Meet Jim Supp, Pt. 1
Jim Supp is the Campus Pastor of MBC Loudoun
How did you accept Christ?
I was raised in a home that was somewhat religious, but that did not know Christ. We regularly went to a church but never heard about a personal relationship with God through Christ. I was a quiet and depressed child most of my upbringing, which intensified into my teenage years. As I entered high school I began to run with a partying crowd in an effort to fit in. I didn’t fit in at all. I began to drink alcohol at the age of 13, which depressed me even more. At the age of 16 I didn’t feel I could go on and planned my own suicide. Before I was able to carry it out I began to interact with some guys on the football team who talked about Jesus. I remember walking one night looking at the sky and asking God if he was real would he mind showing himself to me. On October 14, 1978 some friends took me to see a movie at a Christian movie theater to see a movie entitled “A Thief in the Night” about the return of Christ. After the movie was over the gentleman did a Billy Graham style altar call complete with “Just As I Am” playing in the background. Well, I couldn’t get to the front fast enough. It clicked. I understood the Gospel and I was ready. I have never been the same since – Praise the Lord!
What are your spiritual gifts?
My primary Spiritual Gifts are Teaching, Encouragement, Leadership and Discernment. My secondary gifts are being somewhat Obsessive Compulsive, and I certainly have the blessing of pessimism. I am working on that.
How long have you been at MBC?
I started attending Frontline in the Fall of 1995 and came on staff in May of 1997.
What do you do when you are not working?
As you are probably aware, my primary down time activity is working out. As a somewhat older father I want to be able to be able to keep up when they are teenagers. Besides that, I am not ready to come to grips with the fact that I am pushing 50. I turn 46 this year.
What are you reading right now?

What are your favorite games?
I am not sure what my favorite games are – but right now I am playing an awful lot of Go Fish, Hide and Seek and “Daddy, Let’s Fight.” (Which is really wrestling.) And if you haven’t played Memory Match with a 4 year old recently you must prepared to get creamed. (We had Mike and Kristin Reed over for dinner and Mike was completely ill-prepared to get a whoopin in Memory Match. It is very humbling.)
What are some of your favorite things about your spouse?
There are many things to love about my wife. I don’t know how I would navigate life’s waters without her. The fact that she is beautiful goes without saying. In addition to that she is very wise. She makes decisions quickly and is nearly always right. She is a Proverbs 31 woman who does an amazing job managing so much. She is a diligent mother and the fact that my kids are so great is a testimony to that. As we approach our 10 year anniversary it is great to be able to say that I would marry her again.
Stay tuned for Part 2

Jim, a week and a half ago my mom was in the waiting in the connect room and there was a middle aged woman working in there filling the bags for visitors. Is there any way that you can give me her name, email or phone number? I would like to get in contact with her.
Thanks!
