Yes, God Answers Prayers

Recently a fellow MBC Loudoun Family member found themselves in some urgent need of help. She had surgery on both feet and one wrist. Anyone can imagine how difficult a situation that would put someone in, even the most basic of tasks can seem monumental. The emotional challenge then becomes asking for help. This sister in Christ took that step and reached out.

The response was nothing short of amazing. People assisted with rides to appointments, to the grocery store, etc. In another instance, a group of volunteers went on a chilly March 14th to help her move to her new residence. During the following week, there was a need for assistance with unpacking boxes and setting furniture up, and again the campus family jumped into action with a crew going over on Thursday night to assist with those items.

I know that she was touched and blessed by the assistance. I’ll share part of the email that she thankfully responded with to those who had gone out to help her:

“Thanks again! You have revived my faith in humankind and the people of Loudoun County and MBC. Thank you for your unselfishness and big hearts!”

I was grateful that she was able to see humankind used by Christ, and that ultimately it was her faith in the Lord that was revived. I know she was praying for assistance, and God heard her call. One example that truly struck me was when after receiving an email from her asking about a possible ride to church, before I could even respond to her, God laid that very thing on someone’s heart. They sent me an email saying, “I can’t help with the other rides, but do you think she needs a ride to church.” No one can tell me that God didn’t have a hand in that. He was responding to the cry of one of HIS in need.

What’s on your heart today? What are you struggling with? Are you talking to God about it? Have you asked Him for guidance? God does answer prayers. He may not always answer them the way that we want Him to, but He does hear, and He does respond.

“And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive.” (Matthew 21:22)

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” (Phillipians 4:6)

THANK YOU all for showing Gods love to a fellow sister in need. Thank you for doing what God asks us to do so willingly and unselfishly.

We are such a blessed community. God truly works in Loudon County and we are grateful to be a small part of this growing Church. We have been going to MBC for over 6 years and it is stories like this that remind us of God’s awesome power and the Holy Spirit moving among us in ways that may seem small to some but are life saving and sustaining to others. God be praised!
