My Post at Loudoun
by Rachel Fabian formerly of MBC Loudoun, now of MBC Prince William
The past ten months since my life’s journey made a stop at the Loudoun campus, people have been asking, “So, how are things out in Loudoun?” My response? I’ve updated them on various events going on at the Loudoun campus and how things are going well, but what I usually talk to them about are the people here.
People are who God loves. People are who Jesus died for. People are who the Holy Spirit dwells in to carry out God’s purpose. And though I’ve known the Lord uses His people to do His work as Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do,” I’ve relearned this simple and humbling truth this year. I’m so thankful the Lord works in us, through us and with us! And not only has He given me work to do, but He has blessed me to be a part of the body, the church, to have others to do His work with.
So back to my response to those who asked how things were going at the Loudoun campus, I talked about the people I worked with, the people I served our Lord with. I feel, and truly am, blessed to have served alongside such quality volunteers and staff. Your servant and humble hearts were an example to me. The way you did things with excellence challenged me. And your desire to impact this county for Christ inspired me, and continues to do so as I transition to the Prince William campus. Thank you for being such a great example to me and helping me become a more fully devoted follower of our Jesus. What an honor and joy it has been to serve with so many here at Loudoun. May we continue to make an impact wherever we are, whatever we do for God’s kingdom! And one of these days we will say together as Paul did, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” – 2 Timothy 4:7
