As many of you know, on Saturday night May 30th we had our first ever MBC Loudoun Volunteer Celebration.  And what a wonderful time we had, indeed.  Lots of laughter, great desserts and the camaraderie of others who are serving the Lord Jesus in this place.  I know there are many who wanted to be there but just couldn’t make it work.  You were truly missed.

During the message portion of the evening schedule I shared two points with the group about the important role each person plays in our ministry.  In Philippians 1: 3-6 Paul addresses the Philippian church and thanks them for their ‘partnership in the Gospel.’  The point I expressed was thanks to our volunteers for partnering with Jesus for the spread of the Gospel.  It is all done by Him and for Him, but He chooses to use us in the process.  The second point was out of 1 Corinthians 12 where Paul talks about the critical nature of each person in the Body of Christ.  All are critical, especially those who seem at first glance to lack any kind of special honor.  Paul is clear that those who seem less necessary are necessary all the more.

So – to all of you who volunteer in any way at all – Thanks for being a partner in the Gospel, and never forget that you play a critical role in the body no matter how small of a part it may seem to you.

Jim Supp, Campus Pastor @ MBC Loudoun

And one last word of encouragement from the congregation…

My whole family was blown away by MBC Loudoun on Sunday.  We have been to a lot of churches in three states and many cities and we’ve never found such a church home.  All three of our children were beaming with joy talking about how much fun they had.  My wife and I loved the music, loved the sermon, were blown away by the enthusiasm and number of volunteers, and we loved the fact that we knew so many nice people who attend one or the other campus.  We decided to hold off on going out of town next weekend just to get into a good habit of attending.  We had the small group card filled out within half an hour of getting home.  We are looking forward to attending Christianity 101 and becoming useful members of this congregation.  We can’t thank you enough.  The overall experience was fantastic.

I wanted to thank you for a wonderful night. The comedy was hysterical, and the thank you notes were extremely moving. I appreciate all of the time and energy spent on planning and organizing the whole event. It was a very thoughtful gesture.

I also wanted to take a minute to thank you for serving the Lord. It is out of love for the Lord that we serve Him, but it makes it easier and more fun when you love who you are serving with. I think it is a reflection on the staff that such a high percentage of Loudoun is serving. You instill that love of God within the people of Loudoun. I have never met a church staff who really and truly loved God and emulated their love to the people of the church as much as you do. Thank you so much for being that godly example and spurring on myself and others at MBC Loudoun. I am always thanking God for you.
