I count it a privilege each time I have an opportunity to preach. I still can’t believe it each time I walk out onto the stage to deliver the Word of God to the people of MBC. The blessing multiplies when the Lord chooses to use what comes out of my mouth for his glory. I have been amazed at the number of folks who have responded with how God has used the message from this past weekend to touch them in some way. Although it shouldn’t be surprising, I have received a significant response from folks who would otherwise be considered ‘high capacity’ individuals. “I have been having trouble sleeping lately myself,” I hear them say. For others it was refreshing to have someone put words to the experience that they have been hiding from those around them for quite some time. Rarely have I received the sheer volume of responses I have received this time. Two days before I was to preach I found the enemy whispering in my ear ‘this is dumb, you shouldn’t even be talking about this.’ But I knew better. I felt in my heart that this was from the Lord and pressed forward undeterred. Back stage during each service I found myself chuckling about how anxious I felt as I was going to deliver a message on not being anxious. In the end God did what he does best. Just like Jesus taking the little boys lunch of a few loaves and some fish, he took what I had to offer and ‘fed’ those in need. How cool is it to simply be used by God Himself. I continue to ponder the simple words of my four year old Adam – “When you keep your eyes on Jesus, you don’t sink.” I hope you are encouraged by that.
