Hey guys, I read this verse yesterday in Isaiah “But I said, “I have labored to no purpose; I have spent my strength in vain and for nothing. Yet what is due me is in the LORD’s hand, and my reward is with my God.” ~Isaiah 49:4

If you are anything like me, sometimes being in ministry it can be easy to get bogged down when we feel like we are spending time doing things for “nothing.” I can often during my day do the “mundane” things in ministry and almost trick myself into thinking that they have little eternal purpose.

Isaiah was struggling with his own purpose, he knew he was chosen to be a voice for God, yet life became purposeless for Isaiah. He started to believe that what he was doing had no little to no eternal value! We all go through periods when we start to feel that the things we are doing during our day seem to be clouded with the mundane. But, Isaiah didn’t stay in this place. We read in this passage that he knew the truth of his existence. He could see God’s hand in every moment of His life and came to know that his real reward and purpose would be revealed in eternity. He knew that God was just and fair, so he placed his faith on this truth. What a challenge!

If you get caught up in the day to day routine, answering phones, whatever it is, planning for an event, remember that if you devote your life to the purposes He has for you, the fruits of your labor will be shown in due time. Every little detail of work we do for the kingdom matters!

“The one who calls you is faithful and He will surely do it” 1 Thessalonians 5:24
