I do not have the gift of evangelism.  I love people and certainly find myself engaged is spiritual conversations here and there, but not with the frequency of those who are clearly gifted by God in this way.  Most people wouldn’t think that it is challenging for a pastor to open spiritual conversations or that when he does, there is any anxiety about those conversations.  But it is challenging for me and I sometimes do feel anxious about it.  Having been handed the mantle of responsibility for the MBC Loudoun campus and the mission of reaching this county for Christ, I find my challenges in this area even more on the front burner of my life.  Along with all this, I have come to see just how difficult it is for many in our body to walk through the doors of spiritual conversations with those around them.  As a result, we are going to step out in visionary faith and take a risk for God (Core Value #10) by implementing a campus-wide initiative called The Unexpected Adventure.  For six weeks I am asking our entire congregation at MBC Loudoun take a journey asking God to teach us how to engage those around us who so desperately need the message of Christ.  I can’t wait to experience the power of what God will do when His body is willing to participate in an unexpected adventure.  I anticipate that some of the greatest change will occur in ME.
