Two Sundays ago we had a time of prayer in service at the end, and I challenged them to pray out loud that God would fill the room with not just people, but people who love Jesus. I had them envision the entire room flooded with kids from their school on fire for the Lord and passionate about knowing Him and enjoying Him as their treasure. The next Sunday (this past Sunday) two of our high school students who are still fairly new and just started attending this past May, were really convicted last week to share their faith more and invite friends to the rock here at Loudoun. They showed up with 4 of their friends from their high school this past Sunday! They filled the entire front row it was so awesome. I’ll let their note from them explain the rest.
They wrote to me today and said:
Mike, the four friends we brought to church Sunday absolutely loved the service, they told me that they had no idea church could be so exciting and it was the best youth service they had ever attended with a friend. One of my friends who came has only attended church one time in his life, this being the second time and he wants to make sure he comes back next week. He said he never had any idea that God was so great and that He was a sinner in His eyes. Ever since my brother and I started coming to the ROCK at Loudoun we have been so excited to go to church on Sundays, we look forward to Sunday mornings all week long. The adults in the room are awesome and the service is amazing. We just want to bring as many friends as we can from school so that they can know how awesome God is like you talk about! Please pray for my friend as this was his second time in his life coming to church and he was blown away by how the bible can be so exciting and applicable to him in his life. Thank you for everything.
WOW. God is good. He has shown so much mercy to us hasn’t he? At every campus in every level. Let this encourage you and motivate you towards fervent prayer this week as we head into the school year. God is so good and His truth will always endure. Remember our labor in the Lord is not in vain (1 Cor 15:58, Hebrews 6:10).
