Power of Prayer

by Graig Bantle, Director of Adult Ministries @ MBC Loudoun
Just a couple days ago I opened my e-mail to a wonderful surprise. A member of our congregation wrote a simple e-mail that remind of the power of prayer. It was encouraging to read about how being through a roller coaster of different jobs, etc. the Lord had provided an incredible opportunity that was just what she was looking for. What I found most encouraging was that she saw the power of prayer in those who were aware of the situation and had been on their knees praying for her.
In the Bible, I’m reminded of Elijah, who was a man like many of us. He prayed earnestly that the rains would stop, and they did for 3.5 years. Again, Elijah prayed, and God provided rain so that it would nourish the land.
I know that a big challenge personally is taking the time to get on my knees and bathe everything in prayer. God will not always answer our prayers how we feel is best for us. However, God asks us to make our requests known to Him and we have comfort in knowing that He has an incredible plan in how He desires to use us for His Glory.
Take time today to Thank God for the ability we have to take “Everything” to Him through prayer!
